Can each BigCommerce storefront have its own blog?
Not with the built-in BigCommerce blog, which is shared across every storefront. With DropInBlog, each storefront gets a separate blog with different posts, plus its own schema, XML sitemap and Search Console verification.
How does Multi-Storefront work?
Each storefront gets a separate blog, whether it’s a regional market, a B2B channel, or a sister brand. Every blog has its own schema, XML sitemap and Search Console verification, and can run in a different language if you need it. Team members can access any set of storefront blogs and switch between them in two clicks. On the Business plan, 2+ storefronts are $4,000 per storefront per year on a single annual invoice.
What happens to our existing posts and rankings?
Every post imports with its images, authors and metadata. You can keep your post URLs exactly the same with our Cloudflare add-on, or automatically create 301 redirects during import. Your BigCommerce blog stays live throughout the process, and you can hide it once the migration is completed. On yearly Business plans, our team handles the import for you, and checks Search Console for each storefront before you switch. iZotope moved 802 posts this way, going back to 2002, and preserved all their rankings.
Do we need a developer?
Usually not. Install from the App Marketplace and the blog inherits your theme. If you want it to match custom storefront components pixel for pixel, a few hours of front-end time helps, and on Business we work through it with your team or agency.
Does this touch our store, checkout or performance?
No. DropInBlog only replaces the blog portion of your site. Products, cart, checkout, theme, and the overall performance stay exactly as they are.
Why not just add WordPress to BigCommerce?
You can, and BigCommerce now partners with WP Engine for that. It means a second CMS to host, secure, update and design, and an integration project to connect the two. DropInBlog installs from the marketplace, inherits your theme, and gives you product embeds and per-storefront blogs that WordPress doesn’t have out of the box. One system, not two.
How long does the migration take?
It depends on the archive and how custom your storefront is. Most stores go live within days of the kickoff, larger archives inside a couple of weeks. On the demo we look at your blog and give you a plan with dates.
Can we pay by invoice or PO?
Yes, on yearly Business and Business Plus plans. Team and monthly Business plans bill by card through the BigCommerce app.
What happens to our posts if we cancel?
They’re yours. Export every post to CSV at any time, on any plan.
