Even though this is a Builderall vs. Kartra comparison, I wouldn’t exactly consider the two to be fierce competitors. Why do I say that? While both platforms promote themselves as all-in-one marketing solutions, Kartra is far more popular than Builderall.
In order to make a fair comparison, I’ll focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses and who and what they are suitable for so you can make your own decision.

Prices and Plans
Kartra
As far as I can tell, Kartra has never had a free plan. It currently offers four paid plans: Starter, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Let’s take a look at each of them, learn what features they include, and what the monthly fee is for each of them:
Generally speaking, the plans all offer the same features apart from the Starter plan, which doesn’t include Kartra Agency. Where the difference lies between the plans is in the number of available features. For example, the number of custom domains or leads that are possible will increase with the plan level.
It’s common for web platforms to give a discount when their customers opt for an annual subscription. The same goes for Kartra.
These are the prices with the annual subscription discounts:
It’s not a small difference. With the annual subscription, customers save $29 every month with Starter, $50 with Silver, $70 with Gold, and $120 with Platinum. If you’re sure you’re going to commit to the platform long-term, it really pays off to go with this option.
The Starter plan gives you a pretty good spread of features and tools, along with one custom domain, 50 GB of bandwidth, an allowance for 100 site pages, and the ability to sell up to 20 products.
When you jump up to the Silver plan, you get even more. You can connect up to three custom domains, get unlimited bandwidth, have unlimited site pages, and sell an unlimited number of products. It’s certainly good value for the price tag.
The Gold and the Platinum plans both give you all the same features as the Silver plan, but they include an increase in the number of custom domains you can have and the number of customer leads.
Kartra doesn’t have a free-trial period as an option, but it offers a 14-day trial for $1. This period can be extended to 30 days.
On the face of it, it looks like Kartra is pretty expensive. However, the general sentiment is that, for what it offers in terms of quality and quantity, it’s a great value for money. I tend to agree with that.
Builderall
Builderall used to have a free plan, but that’s not the case anymore. The latest version of the platform offers four plans: Builder, Marketer, Premium, and Funnel Club. You can see the prices in this image:
What differs between the plans is, of course, the number of features or tools they include and the amount of each of their common features. For example, one domain vs. 15 domains, 5,000 subscribers vs. unlimited subscribers, etc.).
Now, Builderall is famous for having tons of features and tools. For example, the list of tools included in the Funnel Club plan looks like a register of nearly every possible sales and marketing software out there. Hence, I’m not going to list every single feature but instead will point out the most important or most interesting features available.
The basic Builder plan will give you access to a bit more than just the basics – but even that’s a lot. With each step up to the next plan, you get extra tools and features but also more domains, subdomains, subscribers, and storage.
The Premium plan has everything found in Builder but has more in terms of quantity: 15 domains, 10 GB disk space, and unlimited subdomains and subscribers. Unlike Builder, Premium includes sales funnel functionalities. In addition to this, there’s:
- Video hosting
- A scheduling app
- A chatbot
- Facebook and YouTube streaming tools
- Webinar functionalities
- A live call with a Builderall specialist
The most expensive plan, Funnel Club, includes everything from Premium plus more advanced sales funnel features and a messenger chatbot feature. You also get automatic approval as an affiliate.
Just like Kartra, Builderall doesn’t have a free-trial period. Instead, it offers something along the lines of a one-month trial. Essentially, similarly to Kartra, it gives you access to the tools that make up the Premium plan for the price of $1, after which you pay the regular price on a monthly basis.
Builderall is significantly less expensive than Kartra. Not only that, but its tools also outnumber the tools found at Kartra. But do more features for less money mean better value? Not necessarily.
Features and Tools
Kartra
One of the things users like most about Kartra is its toolkit. The important thing to understand here is that the features on offer represent high quality and value, and together, they give Kartra bragging rights.
What Kartra gives you is a fully integrated online business builder. All the various tools and apps are interconnected and talk to each other, so you won’t be slowed down by having to update and reconnect apps to your account. Kartra truly is an all-in-one sales and marketing platform.
Kartra provides a long list of features, but these are just some of them:
- Awesome checkout pages
- Intelligent lead scoring and tracking system
- More than 500 customizable page and section templates
- Great email marketing tools
- Sales funnels and campaigns
- Membership sites builder
- Video hosting
- Helpdesks
- Built-in scheduling system
- Attractive forms
- Affiliates system
- Kartra Agency: a tool that gives you the possibility to work with clients’ accounts
- Marketplace, where you can buy or sell products and services
Now, you’ll often hear how Kartra doesn’t include webinar software, but that’s because Kartra’s company, Genesis Digital, already has independently developed webinar software. In turn, Kartra and this software are sold separately, but you can integrate with WebinarJam.
That said, there are two downsides to Kartra:
- Kartra’s site-building capabilities are not going to result in a beautiful super-customizable website.
- It really isn’t fit for blogging.
The first issue can be resolved by using Kartra’s API to customize your site exactly how you want it. As for blogging, you can integrate DropInBlog with Kartra. That way, you won’t miss a beat when it comes to drawing traffic to your site with the help of content marketing.
Builderall
Now, if we’re talking about the number of features, Builderall is the undisputed champion. Builderall literally has tons of tools and features, and no other platform could match this number.
Here we’ll mention a small fraction of the Builderall features:
- Website builder
- Responsive pages
- Membership areas
- Split testing
- Super checkouts
- Upsells, downsells, and bump-sells
- Page loading accelerator
- Numerous email marketing tools
- Professional website bot
- SMS messaging
- Webinar app
- Facebook live streaming tool
- Funnel simulation
- Website agency
So, it’s quite clear that Builderall provides you with a plentiful supply of features for anything and everything you could want to do. This is great, right? The general consensus is ... nope. And there are good reasons for that.
This many features and tools are, actually, more than you’ll ever need. Some users say that there are more features that they haven’t used than those that they have. Similarly, others say that they haven’t used 80% of the tools!
As one reviewer notes, Builderall tries too hard to do too many things at once. This may lead to a potential problem. While Builderall piles up new functionalities, the already existing features could be neglected by not being upgraded and improved upon. That would effectively defeat the purpose of adding new functionalities if the existing ones fall behind.
On top of this, Builderall tools are not integrated with all operations and function like standalone apps that don’t recognize each other. So, Builderall is an all-in-one sales and marketing platform but not in the same smooth, efficient way that Kartra is.
Support and Help
Having a plentiful supply of sales and marketing tools at your disposal would be of no use if you can’t get the help and support you need. Even the best software sometimes fails, so it’s important that your chosen platform has a reputable customer support system. Platforms with effective customer support often rate quite highly as a result.
Kartra
Kartra provides help through various channels, including a ticketing system, email, phone, and a support page.
If you need some pointers on getting the most out of the platform, you'll find a lot of useful information on Kartra's on-demand videos page. If you don't find the information you need there, you can also simply submit a ticket to get specific assistance by following the general Support link.
Additionally, you can always reach out to Kartra via social media: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
Generally, reviews have good words for Kartra’s support team and community, which is another major plus for this platform.
Builderall
Builderall provides customer support through a ticketing system available 24 hours a day and limited support via live chat during business hours (EST).
There’s also a support page and a link that leads to help in the form of an FAQ-style section. The responses deal with different types of questions, ranging from payment-related issues to problems involving domains and hosting.
Yet another useful page is the Builderall Knowledgebase, full of helpful links that tackle numerous topics.
FAQs
Is Builderall more customizable than Kartra?
Builderall is very easy to use and fully customizable, and it’s possible to add your own HTML code. However, Kartra is better. It might be a little harder to learn the ropes on, but if you know what you’re doing, you can add custom HTML, CSS, and Javascript to build the website you want.
What is Builderall used for?
Builderall is a website builder and marketing automation platform. Its creators aimed to provide a platform that is jam-packed with features and tools, all for a reasonable price tag. It can be used for e-commerce stores, membership sites, or even a blog site.
Which is easier to get started with, Builderall or Kartra?
The prize goes to Builderall for ease of use. Kartra isn’t exactly hard to use, but out of the two, Builderall is super easy to get the hang of, despite the multitude of tools and features jammed into it.
Final Thoughts
Compared to Kartra, Builderall is simpler. It has a better affiliate program and a responsive blog builder. Of course, it’s not as good as DropInBlog, but it’s still better than Kartra’s blogging functionality. And, importantly, Builderall has much lower prices than Kartra. Overall, it’s ideal for entry-level online businesses and people who want to get into doing business online.
Alternatively, Kartra is great for landing pages and sales funnels. It has better email marketing tools and is a more advanced platform overall. Essentially, this is going to attract a more serious professional than Builderall probably would. However, the features are there, so there’s no way you can’t take Builderall all the way with you as you build your online presence.
